If you don't like how a sim looks like, turn on testingcheats (look into cheats section), shift click on a sim and Select "Edit Sim in Create a Sim" Click the tick when you are done!
If you want your sim to have a second chance at life, in the cemetary, there is a death flower plant. Harvest that and when your sims time to turn to Grim, the deceased sim gives Grim the flower and is turned into a sim again. This death flower can be planting by special seeds in the cemetary or even by fishing!
